A Tale of Two Lovely Kittens:
I had the pleasure of fostering two more kittens who were found "in the wilderness of the country".
When they were first brought to me they were docile and surprisingly calm, they would let you hold them for quite some time and didn't bite like you would expect a "wild animal" to do.
They had big plump bellies and confused little faces.
I gave them the usual treatment: A bath, liquid de-wormer, flea medication and some crunchy cereal with LOTS of water to be sure that they are properly hydrated and to help shed that barrel belly that they had.

It was only about one day until both kittens were purring when petted, although they were both clearly frightened of sudden movements from us BIG humans.
When i began talking to them i could see how intelligent they were and that they loved to be comforted in this new environment that they were forced into.

Its difficult to foster kittens without getting attached to them emotionally...
which is exactly what happened with these two little cuties. They both would purr every single time i came to check on them during the night or day and even began following me around to see what i was doing.
We spent many hours playing with kitty toys that had feathers and bells.
I knew as I watched them leap and pounce like tiny fuzzy athletes that i would miss this part of the day... and they would too.

I only wish that there was some way that i could have told them that they weren't going to stay at my house forever, although that would have been ideal my apartments wouldn't allow me to keep 4 cats.
It feels good to know that they won't be out in the harsh cold this winter or eaten by coyotes, so knowing that they are warm, safe and loved is good enough for me. Since i can't keep every single cat in the world...
