My home seemed too quiet without kittens playing chase and pestering my older cats.
So...
I contacted my aunt who i had heard needed help finding homes for a couple of wild kittens. . .
This is the story of a polydactyl cat (and what i know about her family)...

This is the lovely young tabby who was rescued from a field when she was only a few weeks old.
When she first came to live with us she hid whenever we walked about the room
and would hiss if you reached out to her while she was in hiding.
After 3 days of gentle coaxing and brief exposure to petting and play she realized that people weren't dangerous.
She took comfort in seeing my cats and would regularly approach them with her tail perked up and quickly became friends with them.

Originally i was going to foster 2 wild kittens that were found with their mother.
It took a while to capture the kittens from the grassy land that they had been living in.
Had it had taken any longer to capture them it may have been to late for them all.
The mother cat and sister kitten had consumed some form of poison.
We think it was a poison called strychnine that was put out to kill rats or coyotes which live in the area.
Thankfully they received medical attention in time and are both doing very well.
The mother and calico kitten now live with my aunt who had grown fond of the cats while nursing them back to health.
The other kitten who hadn't been poisoned came to live with me for a while and was put up
for adoption once she adjusted to living indoors and lost her fear of people.
