How we adopted Kyoko
In June 2011 Kyoko was adopted from a local ad found on the internet for $20, he was only about a month old.
Out of all the kitten ads we saw, he was the cutest little guy we could find.
We didn't want to get a girl kitty, we needed another male kitty to keep our Mr. Nice Guy some company.
Kyoko as a kitten
Kyoko was named after a city in Japan called Kyoto.
Later we found out that Kyoko is a girl's name.
He has a high pitched meow, so I guess that is okay!
He is always curious and watching what us humans are doing, as though he will one day do what he sees us do.

He gives us long loving looks, making direct eye contact... with such adoration!
Meeting Mr. Nice Guy
Nice Guy didn't like the idea of a little guy like Kyoko coming to live in HIS home at first...
... But it wasn't long until he accepted him.
From kitten to adult:
Amazing how such a small creature can become so big and loving!
Here is Kyoko with his friend outside.
They like to play in the bushes and just hang out together watching people walk by. Before I started taking Kyoko outside for fresh air I never knew that there was such a number of cats in my community that share the same outdoor places. Its likely that there are many places, like ours, with cats who all know each other and get along. More or less. When we first saw Kyoko with this other cat she tackled him and pinned him down.
At first we were worried but it turned out they were just playing. They seem to be pretty good friends! |
